TOADALLY FROGS!

Today I took the kids to the Utah Museum of Natural History. They have a display of all sorts of frogs. The kids loved it! Afterwards we checked out the rest of the museum ~~ dinosaurs, indian artifacts, mining facts, BUGS, etc. It was really fun. I had never been there (that I remember anyway).

Missing Child

Yesterday, Cady asked if she could go to Livvy's house (Laci's friend). I said no and didn't think any more about it. I hopped in the showerand my kids started banging on the bathroom door. I'm really irritated, cuz they always know when I'm in the bathroom and they flock there and won't leave me alone. I speed up the shower process and get out just in time to hear Cullen say, "Livvy's mom just called and said that Cady walked over there." WHAT?????!@?!?!!?!? Cady is 3 years old!!!!! To get to Livvy's house, you have to walk down the street 4 houses, turn a corner and go 3 houses. 3 streets to cross!!!! I freaked out! I guess she knows what she wants and does it NOW.

So, I thought our talk helped, but obviously not because . . .

Today, she was outside playing with my 9 yr. old "watching" her. She was probably out there for 5 minutes when he ran inside asking if Cady was in the house. No. I looked outside. I looked inside. Cullen started heading to Livvy's house again while I went inside to call. Well, on the way to Livvy's house, he noticed some movement at a neighbors window. Cady had helped herself into a neighbors house ~~ nobody home ~~ LOCKED their door and is stuck inside!!! I tried to coach her to unlock the deadbolt, but she can't quite get it. I try to get her to go to the garage and open the garage door, but she can't see the garage door opener. We keep going back and forth between the two doors hoping that she'll be able to figure one of them out. I'm about ready to call the cops when I notice the sliding door in the kitchen. I send Cullen around back (he has to hop a fence and got clawed by their 2 dogs, but he made it). He coached Cady into unlocking the sliding door and Voila! She's rescued.

What am I gonna do with my wandering beauty?!?!?!?

I'm a little FREAKED out! Suggestions?
(that DON'T involve handcuffs or restraints of some sort)

Full Moon!

So today marked our weekly trip to Costco. We had just gotten back to the car and loaded the groceries. I put Cady in the car, shut the door and went to put the cart away. When I returned, I opened the van door to buckle her in and guess what I saw . . .

A FULL MOON!
Where in the world did she learn that?
Actually it's the second time she's done it.
She also did it at Grandma-great's house
on Christmas Day for all to see.
What happened to my sweet Cady?
At least it was a cute little bum!

Germ-a-phob in training

Does anyone else flush a public toilet with their foot?
Exit the bathroom by opening the door with a papertowel?

Well, we all know that kids are disguisting and although I do the above, I have yet to see my kids care much about germs. So, it really caught me off-guard when my 3 year-old Cady tried to flush the movie theater toilet with her foot. Keep in mind she is itty-bitty; not much bigger than the toilet. So it is quite the site. I laughed my arse off. And she stopped me from opening the door just so she could try her skills of papertowel opening.
That's my girl! :)

(don't try this in public ~~this is performed in a controlled, sanitary environment)

Check out her fashion sense!

Miss Laci is 5 1/2 and loves to dress up. She is VERY independent and usually picks out her own clothes. Had this been my first child, I would never allow her to walk out of the house like this, but I just really don't care anymore. There are a few occasions where I will step in and intervene (the hot pink mixed with red, or when we are going out), but for the most part, if she's dressed, she's good to go. Here's what she's wearing today . . .
