Trip to Washington: Day 4

Astoria Column has served for 80 years as beacon on the Pacific Northwest Coast. It sits in Astoria, Oregon's highest point. The column is built of concrete, canvased with various pictures that salute Astoria's explorers and early settlers for their early role in the expansion of the United States to the Pacific Coast. It is 164 steps to the top.

Then we set of to find some seals ...
I love seeing ships on the dock!
Too bad we didn't have pictures of us trying to get the
"sun-bathing" seals to look at us!
