Another Year Wiser

Why is it that we shun getting older? Yes, today is my birthday and I am another year older. Someone at work today said, "22 today, huh?" "RIGGGHHHHT . . . . " I agreed. But would I willingly go back to 22? I don't think so. Look at all I have done, accomplished, learned, and yes, even suffered. Would I give all that up just to start over? Why is getting older such a bad thing? Maybe instead we should call it getting "wiser".

Hopefully that is what we are doing.

So today I proudly say, I AM 33 YEARS WISER!

BRAZIL - - HERE WE COME!!

My parents got their mission call 1 1/2 months ago, before I started blogging, but I thought I should dedicate a post to their call. BRAZIL MACEIO MISSION. You can imagine how stoked my dad is! He has always wanted to go back to Brazil. That is where he served when he was 19. They invited Catherine (my sister) and I to come over while they opened their call. I took pictures about every 3 seconds while they were opening it. Here are a few of the best ones. They leave July 7th! It seemed so far away when they received their call, but it's only a month away now!

True Love's Kiss

Last night, Laci, Cady and I were laying on my bed watching a movie. Laci leaned over and gave me a kiss, then asked, "Mommy, will you give me a True Love's Kiss?" I laughed and told her, " I can't -- but I can give you a Mommy kiss." She then asked me who she could get a 'true love's kiss' from. I told her that she'd have to wait until she's older when she has a boyfriend or a husband. I think we've watched Enchanted too many times at our house!!

Baseball Season

Cullen has been playing baseball again this year and yesterday was one of his best games. Later at dinner, he asked Landon if he had seen how good he played. Landon, of course was off in his own world and probably didn't even realize a game was going on. Cullen then said, "well, if you would have been watching, you would have seen how professionals play." How awesome is that! I laughed, to myself, of course, and knew that quote would have to be blogged. Next week is the last week of games until playoffs. It's been fun to see him progress in his skills although he has to be so dramatic about everything and pouts when he doesn't play well.

Kindergarten Graduation

Today was Kindergarten Graduation for Landon. He has been talking about his program for weeks--excited to show us all the songs he has learned. I was going to take some video footage, but unfortunety I forgot to put my SD card back in my camera so all I had was my internal memory--not much room for anything except pictures. He was very dramatic and had all the actions down pat. He is so excited to be graduated now and moving on to FIRST GRADE!

New "Do" for Laci

Last week at preschool, Laci decided to give herself a haircut! I think the teacher thought I was going to be really upset, but what can ya do?! I think it's a right of passage isn't it? I know I did it when I was about her age. The funny thing is that just the week before I was thinking about how surprised I was that she hadn't done something like that before now. Anyway, she cut a huge chunk out of "bangs" just on one side and really far back on her head -- and a little chunk on the top towards the back. It didn't look too bad until we tried to pull her hair back, which we always do, so it was decided that she would get a new "do".

Race for the Cure

Today was the big Race for the Cure at the Gateway Mall in Salt Lake City. This was the first year I have been able to participate and we decided to take the kids too. Aunt Jessica made shirts for the kids that turned out sooooooo cute!!! I was so amazed at all the people who were there to show their support for breast cancer research. It brought tears to my eyes to see all the people who are, or have been affected by breast cancer.

We miss Kris (Josh's mom) everyday and hope that someday there will be a cure so no one else has to suffer the way she and so many others have. We Love You!
