Up, Up and Away!

Sending balloons to Grandma

My sister did this at the funeral of her son.
I thought it was such a great idea that we've continued the tradition.
Great way to help the kids feel they still have a connection . . .

Four Years

Couldn't have asked for a better mother-in-law.
Couldn't have asked for a better mom for my husband.

Couldn't have asked for a better example.
Couldn't have asked to know a better woman. Couldn't have asked for a better grandma for my kids.
But she was taken too soon.
She was taken too young. We Love You!
We Miss You!
Always Have.

Hot Pockets!

Saw this guy live tonight at Kingsbury Hall.
It was Josh's Birthday Present.
It was hilarious!
My cheeks hurt from laughing!
Just some of his famous 'Hot Pocket' routine . . .

What was the idea behind Hot Pockets? Was there a marketing meeting somewhere, “Hey I got an idea: How about we take a Pop-Tart and fill it with really nasty meat? You could cook it in a sleeve thing, dunk it in a toilet.”

I was looking at a box of hot pockets and they have a warning on the side. It's like 'Warning! You just bought Hot Pockets! Hope you're drunk or heading home to a trailer! You hillbilly enjoy the next NASCAR event!'

They recently invented the breakfast hot pocket, FINALLY. I can’t think of a better way to start the day; Good morning... you’re about to call in sick. Now I can have a Hot Pocket for breakfast, a Hot Pocket for lunch, and be DEAD by dinner.

Lean Pockets, I don't even wanna know what's in those. I wonder what the directions are on a box of Lean Pockets: 'Remove from box, place directly in toilet.

There is the vegetarian Hot Pocket for those of us who don't want to eat meat, but would still like diarrhea.

First Flavors of Fall

A cool blast of summer meets refreshing flavors of fall.

Just another reason I love Fall!

Security Check

There's this term. "Woobie."

Many of you may remember this word from the 1980s movie Mr. Mom.
The younger son, Kenny, has a security blanket that he calls his woobie.
In an attempt to break him of this habit, his father solemnly explains,
"I understand that you little guys start out with your woobies and you think they're great... and they are, they are terrific. But pretty soon, a woobie isn't enough. You're out on the street trying to score an electric blanket, or maybe a quilt. And the next thing you know, you're strung out on bedspreads."

Well, I have a "Woobie".
I got it Christmas of 5th grade.
It has been replaced once.
It started out as a penguin blanket.
But it got too worn out.
*sniff* *sniff*
It had to be replaced.
It was a hard transition, but I made it!
I HAVE to sleep with my "Woobie".
It all started when I went through puberty.
I was VERY self-conscious of my "early development".
So I used it to cover up a lot when I was watching TV, etc.
So, Woobie, made me feel secure.

Now I think it has something to do with the proper weight distribution.
Sheet, comforter, Woobie.
If this weight distribution is not achieved,
sleep does not come easily to me.

Yes, even in the summer . . .
I just have my legs and arms sticking out of the blanket.

I know, a little juvenile.
A little weird.
But "IT'S MY WOOBIE".

Once, on vacation with my friend, Emily,
I woke in the middle of the night and discovered
that she had "swiped" my beloved Woobie.
In a rage, I grabbed it away from her and yelled,
"That's MY Woobie!"

Yes, it comes with me to every sleepover,
every girls night, every vacation
(even used up precious suitcase weight and took it on the cruise)

You probably think it is silly
But It's my Woobie
And I Love It!

And that's all that really matters, right?

Don't mess with my Woobie!

Soccer

Nothing is better or more entertaining than watching a
bunch of 7-year-old boys run around with their heads cut off.
This is Landon's first year of playing soccer.
He pretty much has NO clue what he's doing.
Sometimes he runs after the ball. Sometimes he runs around in circles.
The first game I was able to go to, he spent most
of the game waving and smiling at me!
But his heart is in it! He is in absolute HEAVEN!
And that's what it's all about!
