My Boys Go A Huntin'

Josh took the boys elk hunting.

They didn't get anything, but they had some great male-bonding time. Cullen nailed these ducks on the youth duck hunt.

We decided to head up to SnowBird resort

and take advantage of their free tram rides. Little did we know what we would see at the top ...

They had to shuttle us down earlier than they had planned

because of the snow.

(hello ... aren't they a ski resort??)

But the kids had fun riding the tram anyway.

Surprise Field Trip

What do you do when your kids are out of school for UEA??

SURPRISE FIELD TRIP ...
To the GREAT SALT LAKE!!!

I've been wanting to go all summer,
but it just didn't happen,
so, last week when the kids were off school,
I took them on the surprise field trip of a lifetime :)
I was bummed, because Salt Aire was closed
but we went to the marina and found a "beach".

The GREAT SALT LAKE beach does just fine!

Sassy New Haircuts

My girls have (had) beautiful long hair.

But it gets sooo snarly and they cry and whine anytime

it needs to be brushed. And Dad tries, but doesn't really

know what to do with it when I'm at work and he's in charge

of getting the kids ready for school.

So, I decided it was time.

I'm pretty sure this is Cady's first haircut. Unless you count the few times in the last month that she has cut parts of it herself ...

And since Cady's hair is soooo long, I figured we might as well donate what we cut to Locks of Love, an organization that makes wigs from donated hair for kids who have lost theirs to cancer or other diseases. It has to be at least 10 inches of hair to donate. Here is her "donation."

We took Cullen and Landon to their first concert ...

The tickets and website said the concert started at 4:45

so we arrived fashionably late at 6:00.

Found out the concert really didn't start until 7:30!
